Vancleave victim held at gunpoint; forced to drive for hours

Authorities arrested a man they said kidnapped a Vancleave woman and forced her to drive him around for hours on Friday.

Timothy Joe Jeane Jr., 26, of Burkeville, TX is charged with kidnapping, according to Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd.

Byrd said Jeane knew the victim.

The sheriff's department learned of the incident after a 911 call stating the woman was held against her will.

After several hours of being forced to drive the suspect around at gunpoint, the victim was able to escape.

Jeane has an initial appearance before Judge T. Larry Wilson. Wilson set Jeane's bail at $50,000 with a no contact order.

If convicted, Jeane could face up to life in prison and a $10,000 fine.
