We start today with a walk on the dark side. First stop is a place considered one of the 13 scariest attractions in America called the Terror Test and it takes place in Lumberton which is about an hour north of South Mississippi.
There's no cheating at the The Terror Test. From the moment you set foot in the building you'll feel as though you've entered another reality. You'll walk through streets of dark shadows all the while hearing moans and movements in the back ground. Next you'll be taken into a Infectious Disease Ward, where confusion sets in as you witness someone being through torture. Then there's the New Orleans style cemetery, gas chamber and more. Your terror levels will be tested during this bone chilling experience that features cutting edge special effects and pyrotechnics.

Can you survive the haunted trail? The Haunted Trail is one you should walk through only if you dare. It's been open for nearly two decades and those who have survived the trail continue to test their abilities to do so. This event has evolved from more than just the woods. Attendees will walk through four small houses, a barn and small shack. The animatronics and insane asylum will keep you guessing what's real and what's not.

This attraction is located in at the Old Movie Star factory in Poplarville, its about 30,000 square feet of terror. When you first embark on your journey, you’ll walk through a series of consequences from drinking and driving to cyber stalking. You'll see an actual DUI accident play out, once you make it through all the consequences you'll be taken to an unguided 18,000 square foot maze. Left to fend for yourself, you'll have to find the exit on your own. More than 80 actors will bring this tour to life. It takes about 25-30 minutes to go through the entire tour.

The creators of this next haunted attraction got their inspiration from the show Walking Dead. So when you step into the House of the Undead you'll be followed by every kind of zombie including clown zombies and police zombies. This guided spook is located in Hurley. All proceeds benefit a local soccer team and the Jackson County Fallen Officers Charity.

Hall of Horrors is considered one of the spookiest places in Biloxi. Its located behind the Saenger theatre this creepy indoor haunt opens every Friday and Saturday in October from 7:00pm until 11:00pm. Proceeds benefit the Harrison County Dept. of Human Resources Family and Children Services Children’s Christmas Fun.

Behind Saenger Theatre, Biloxi
Field of Freight opens tonight. This guided walking trail takes you through one acre of corn maze full of twists and turns and terror. The walk features a creepy school bus, horrifying field and haunted house. Actors will be dressed in all sorts of scary masks and costumes.

For one night only Flint Creek opens its doors to the 18th Annual Haunted Forest. A guide will take you through several scare stations created by around 50 actors. To heighten the shock factor, creators of the trail added a few scary modifications that only those who enter can see. If you finish the trail, you’ll have the option to take a ride on the creepy hayride.

Join the ghouls for one wicked charity ball. Prepare for it by putting on your best costume. You'll dance to New Orleans band--Band Camp, they will be playing pop music. This event is B.Y.O.B and open to anyone 21 and up. Prizes will be given out to a male, female and group. All proceeds will benefit a family dealing with financial issues due to the devastating cost of cancer.

The Dock Bar and Grill invites you to enter in their Halloween Costume Contest. The Molly Ringwalds will be playing spooktacular hits from the 80s. The Halloween contest will offer three cash awards for the best costumes judged in three categories. You must be 21 years or older to attend.

You'll walk into all things Halloween at the 54th Annual Halloween Carnival. From painted backdrops to different scary themed booths this carnival offers just the right amount of scare for the entire family. Food options include, hamburgers, hotdogs and gumbo. Father Dennis will be making his famous Holy Mary cotton candy. You’ll enjoy competing in the costume and pumpkin decorating contests. Plus you can spend some time in the haunted house and check out the dunking booth.

The Pascagoula Recreation Center's Gym will turn into the nightmare on Pascaghoula Street. Attendees will walk through 12 rooms filled with characters from just about every horror movie. There will be a guide taking you through the entire haunted house. The house takes about 10 - 12 minutes to walk through.

The Barksdale Pavilion at Jones Park will hold Boo Bash Saturday. The City of Gulfport is putting on this event and they're creating a horrific family friendly event. Frightening festivities include games, face painting, a special Halloween dance performances and food.

Put on your costumes and bring your squirt guns, rice, newspapers, and other props to the Rocky Horror Picture Show playing at the Hard Rock. This event is free. After the show hang out with DJ Hurricane at Hard Rock Live for the Halloween Costume Contest. Registration begins at 10-11:45pm. The contest begins at midnight. Five winners will get cash prizes.

All things spooky are invited to Coast Nightclub Friday for a costume party. Entries accepted from 10:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. The 15 best costumes will be chosen to enter the midnight costume contest. Crowd cheering will be measured by a noise meter to determine winner. First place winner takes home $1,500. The second place winner receives $500 and third place winner will receive a gift compliments of Jagermiester and Absolut. Costumes must be in good taste. Masks are not allowed on the gaming floor, but can be worn in Coast. Face paint is acceptable as long as the face is recognizable. Hats or wigs must not obscure the face. No fake weapons.
